Where Sarah’s Grace enriched our lives.
A memory of her is for ever
walking upon these Norfolk Island shores,
Between the sand and salty
air and on
the wooden floorboards of our home.
And Cradling our young children as they
Grew inside
their infant lives, yes,
her memory
Inside our
home survives
The storms and tides may
rise and clear
The passing footprints from the sand,
And salty winds may blow
away the sweet and bitter
Clouds of foam as days and hours pass,
And growing children go about their changing
like bees, swelling out to bend the hives,
Ah but,
While all else alters in its shape and form
before my aging eyes
Yet still the sea
And still the shore
of her Grace remain
For ever
Marked: Where Sarah walked among our lives.
